Bryce Canyon

This last weekend we were able to go to Bryce Canyon with my parents. And me being a photographer I was so excited to take pictures, but about 45 minutes into our drive I realized I left my camera at home. I wanted to cry! Everywhere I looked I would say to myself, Wow that would make a beautiful picture. So this post I will have no pictures attached to it. Other than that we had a great time. There were moments though I wish I left my kids at home. I know they are young but I just wanted them to enjoy every moment there and instead we had a lot of melt downs from Liv. She either wanted her Binky or me to hold her. One night at the rodeo I saw a mother drag her cranky 3 year old out and I went up to her and gave her a big hug and told her I felt her pain. She started to cry and it made me realize I am not alone being a struggling parent with a 2 almost 3 year old. She is a lot easier to take care of when I am in the comfort of my home, because her time out chair is a very familiar place for her. And lucky for me she actually listens and obeys that rule.

My parents are really the best because our first hike wasn't that successful with Owen and Liv they watched them early one morning so me and Chris could go on a nice long hike. Oh it was so nice, and I am so sad I don't have any pictures from it! We also enjoyed swimming, hot tubbing, rodeo, four wheeler rides, hikes, fireworks, and yummy food. Thanks Mom and Dad for a wonderful trip!

When she is having a good moment, oh is she sweet. I could just eat her up in these pictures, I love her!!
Pictures taken tonight for her 3rd birthday coming up...

Oh Julie, I just love you! Thanks for your honesty about the challenges of 2-3 year olds. Sometimes I can't quite express my frustrations with parenting, but you capture it perfectly! What a thoughtful thing for you to go give that mother a hug. Made me cry because I sure could use a hug sometimes and someone telling me that they understand and that it's okay. Ugh! Parenting is so hard! Thanks again for just being so real. Love you!

You are so sweet to think of that lady. I wish everyone knew that we all struggle with our kids! Being a mom can be tough!!
