Olivia's dance showcase

Olivia got to perform on the big stage and she kept playing it off that she wasn't that excited, but once we got there I could tell she couldn't wait to perform! This year with dance has been hard. Olivia would keep telling me that she hated dance or didn't want to go, but once we got there she was in heaven and loved every minute of it. I wasn't going to sign her back up just because she has had a poor attitude all year with it, but after last nights performance I could tell that she loved it! So I will try one more year and hopefully she won't fight me on it. And in all honesty I think she likes to do whatever opposite thing I say or do....if I like it she doesn't and vice versa. Man am I going to love raising her as a teenager, yikes;) DSC_3978-web DSC_3951-web DSC_3954-web DSC_3959-web DSC_3972-web DSC_3948-web DSC_3941-web DSC_3922-web DSC_3931-web

Evan love,

Evan is just over 13 months old and is starting to have a little attitude. As I am typing this he is in his crib for over an hour now just refusing to take a nap banging the walls, playing, talking. He is driving me a little nuts today and I am fine to leave him in there as long as he (and I) need! He is still learning to crawl and took a couple crawls yesterday, but then fell flat on his tummy. I do worry about him being behind but because he is right on socially I haven't panicked yet. The other day Olivia cried to me; "You don't love Owen, you don't love me, you only love Evan." And of course that is not true but he is the only one that still lights up to see me and doesn't talk back or even tell me that I am stupid. So I may not love him more, but yes I am definitely more sweet and caring towards him because I don't have to reprimand him as much. I know the time is going to come (and I think sooner rather than later) that this little guy is going to cause me a little anxiety and he will be with the other two causing me just as much a headache as ever. So for now he still gets all my loves and baby coos for as long as he will let me:) DSC_3679-web DSC_3668-web Honestly how could you not be obsessed with this little face?

Evan turns ONE!

My little munchkin turned one today! This is a very bittersweet day for me. I want him to be my baby forever but am ready for him to start being independent. He is still not crawling and not even close my doctor just informed me that we have 3 months to get him moving until we have to have some physical therapy. So these next couple of months are going to include a lot of tummy time and me not holding him as much:( Lately Evan has been throwing some tantrums and knows just how to work me over. If I am not fast enough with food, drinks, or toys he throws his head back and acts like a little butt. I am a bit worried about how he is going to be when he learns even more naughty tricks. Happy 1st birthday my Evan love!

A photoshoot with my little buddy

This is what I wanted for my birthday a photoshoot with my little sweet baby! I am head over heels in love with this boy and probably spoil him way too much. I hardly let him fuss and pretty much he gets what he wants when he wants it. I know this will definitely come back and bite me in the butt, but as for now I am thoroughly enjoying it!

Evan 11 months

My little munchkin is 11 months today(boohoo). My little buddy is still content not crawling and LOVES to be held. My husband thinks I am doing him a big disfavor, but soon he will be crawling and will want nothing to do with me so I am soaking it all in! Happy 11 months Evan!

What has been going on in the Burton household!

We have been busy, busy, busy! Being a family of five definitely keeps Chris and I on our toes. Owen and Olivia are growing up so fast and have been able to help me out with baby Evan quite a bit. Owen loves to entertain him and will often help feed and play with him when needed. Olivia loves to be put in charge of Evan, but I do have to be careful to not leave her alone with him! Sometimes I will find her twisting his arm or trying to pick him up and when he sees me he gives me this look like "Save me mom". At times I feel very overwhelmed and wonder what I got myself into, but I honestly wouldn't have it any other way. I find myself falling more in love with Chris every single day. He amazes me. He is kind, thoughtful, patient, and so loving. My kids all adore him and I hope Olivia marries someone just like him and Owen and Evan become just like him! I am so blessed and I'm so glad the choices I have made to get me here. Life is definitely not roses all the time but when it is good it completely outweighs the bad!

Owen: He is determined, confident, loving, and a hard worker. He loves to have guy night outs with his dad and Grandpa. He loves school, but mostly recess. He loves to work on projects. He loves to be the best at everything. All of those sound so sweet and yet they are, but he does have a very stubborn side to him too. Chris and I have been butting heads with him lately and I think he is testing the waters with us. He tries to manipulate and work Chris and I against each other to get what he wants, but after having a talk with Grandpa Conger I think he hopefully learned his lesson. He has started to write in a journal and it is so fun and cute to look at all of his entries. One of my favorite sentence that he wrote is, "We are go swimming today and I think it is going to be willy willy willy fun!"

Olivia: She is spunky, carefree, lively, and very energetic. She loves to play dress up with her friends. She loves to snuggle with mom. She loves to give Evan hugs. She loves school. Olivia has grown up so much to me lately. She is getting easier to manage and to reprimand her when needed. She does still have plenty of meltdowns but is quicker to jump out of them. I love her so much and she often comments that her and I are the only princesses in our home! She has been such a fun little girly girl, and loves to help me with my pictures and getting all beautiful for church and other special occasions.

Evan: He is cute, loving, funny, and very spoiled. He is growing up way too fast for my liking, but I do love every new milestone that comes his way. He loves food and drinking from a sippy cup. He has refused his binky this last month so I just decided to get rid of it completely. Most days he just stays in his pajamas, because they seem to be so cozy for these winter months. He loves his momma and only wants to be in her arms (I'm soaking it all in because I know how quickly things change.)

Chris: He is a hard worker, patient, loving, and very witty. He has been so busy with his new job at advanced MD and I have to say how proud I am of him. He has pushed himself to really succeed and it is starting to pay off. He got a road bike for Christmas and has enjoyed going on lots of long rides! He is definitely the kids best friend and Owen is always looking for opportunities to have some guy alone time with him. Olivia is constantly asking if she can marry him. And as for Evan he loves Chris, but would much rather be with his Momma!

Last but not least is me! I am keeping really busy being a Mom of three and sometimes just can't wait for the night so I can have a little peace and quiet! I am still doing photography and feel very blessed to have that as a little hobby. These last several months I have found a love for exercise and how good it makes me feel. I will try to fit that into my day everyday, because honestly I think it allows me to have a little more patience for my kiddos. And also I have my best friend Erin as my little workout buddy!

So there it is...We are busy but I think it is a good busy!

Owen's Valentine tea party

Owen and I have absolutley fallen in love with his first grade teacher, Mrs. Shumway. She is always doing fun things for the kids, and has made his transition from kindergarten to all day 1st grade so easy. For Valentines she hosted a Tea Party where they could invite someone special to join them. Owen chose his Grandma Ricki! They were able to dress up for this nice party, where they enjoyed fancy hor dourves and fun games.

Evan 10 months old

My little buddy is 10 months old today and I am wanting this age to stick around for a bit. He is my little friend and my sweetheart! When I am in the room he only wants me and will cry until he gets his way. I think Chris, Owen and Olivia aren't too happy that they are not his favorite, but I have to remind them that the time will come soon enough and then I will no longer be his favorite but they will, so please let me soak all this in! This last week he has refused taking his binky which at first I was a little sad, but now I won't have to worry about the binky fairy coming when he is 2 (or maybe 3..) He is a very loved little boy in our house and we all are quite obsessed! Happy 10 months little lover boy!

Evan 9 months old

9 month stats
Weight: 18.65 lbs.
Height: 27.75 in.
This boy has stole my heart and it is sure noticeable. He has me wrapped around his finger, and I am very okay with that. You realize by your third baby how fast time goes so you just soak every new stage in and enjoy all the lovey baby stuff! Evan loves to be held and mostly by me! He loves to eat and loves to watch his brother and sister play, but does not like to be smothered by them. He gives me this look to save him when they get a little too close. He goes to bed around 6 and gets up once or twice at night to eat and then wakes up between 7 and 8. He is a very happy baby and I am so blessed to be his mom! Love you Evan. This photoshoot was very short and sweet as you can tell he was done about 30 seconds into it.

Christmas and New years Eve 2011

I am so sad that the Holidays have come and gone so fast. I did not want to put my tree away it looked so pretty and cozy in my family room. I think the Christmas season brings so much joy and I love all the fun parties and get togethers.
We celebrated Chris's birthday a week early at his parents house so that we could just focus on him. With his birthday being on Christmas Eve sometimes he gets pushed to the side a bit with all the other traditions. He got a road bike for his birthday and to be honest I am a little worried, but I am glad he will have a hobby that is also good for his health! Christmas was so fun this year! Owen and Olivia are getting older and getting more excited for Santa to come and Owen was very convinced that he saw Rudolph guiding Santa's sleigh and also could here him on our roof. Santa brought Owen beyblades, a scooter and a remote control helicopter. Santa brought Olivia a tea set, and a American doll itty bitty baby. Santa brought Evan a cozy blanket and pillow and jammies. Every year I feel so blessed and wish I could simplify Christmas. I know it is fun for kids to get presents but sometimes I feel like I am focused on that too much. I want my kids to feel grateful for what they have instead of focusing on what they don't have or want. Hopefully I can be better prepared for next year and help my kids find the simplicity of Christmas which is the birthday of our dear Savior.
New years eve we celebrated with Chris's friends and Owen and Olivia got to go to Grandma Jody's which they were in heaven about and had so much fun playing games and eating treats!
So here is to the new year 2012, I have a feeling it is going to be great!

Owen Turns seven

DSC_4001-web2
Owen's birthday was on December 1st and this year it was a friend party. I was very hesitant to do one, but I have to say it was fun and actually not too out of control as I suspected. He choose to do a Bey blade battle party and as of now that is what he is into and talks about constantly! I can't believe he is seven and I am ready for him to stop growing up. He is such a Daddy's boy and looks forward to any night alone with him. He is always making lists of what to do on their guys night out, and it is just the cutest thing ever. I am so grateful for him and I'm so glad that he is mine forever and ever. Love you Owen!

Evan and Hunter

Ever since Evan was born Hunter has been left out completely, poor fella. But now that Evan is a little bit bigger Hunter is slowly making his way back into our family. Evan gets so excited when he comes around and Hunter is extremely good with him! All we need now is a little saddle so Evan can ride him!
