Evan 2 weeks old

Today was Evan's 2 week check up, and I have been stressing about it all week. How the heck was I going to get everyone up, ready and fed by 8:45 a.m. Well I did it, and just about sweated through the whole thing. Evan weighed 7 lbs. 8 oz, and is one healthy little baby! I am quite obsessed with this little boy...

Evan's first photoshoot..

Thanks to my sweet husband who helped take these pictures. He told me he hoped I didn't treat my clients like I did him, ha! What can I say I had a vision of how I wanted them and he was going to get it right! I also thought I was going to be taking pictures of Evan everyday, boy was I wrong. I am lucky if I even remember to brush my kids teeth let alone my own. Welcome to being a new mommy of three!

Evan's birth story.

Evan was due on April 30th but because my babies have been pretty big being early I was glad my doctor was okay stripping my membranes (sounds beautiful hu?) Contractions started around 9:00 p.m. on April 12th. We checked in at the hospital around midnight, and got my epidural at 2:00 a.m. Evan was born at 7:23 a.m. weighing 7 lbs. 3 oz. I pushed for a total of 13 minutes, but I have to say this was the most painful between all my babies. I remember looking at Chris with tears in my eyes afraid I wasn't going to be able to do it. But I did! After he was born I was able to just hold him for a couple of hours before they took him off to bathe him. I loved that. I can't even describe in words how beautiful it was to hold my little Evan, I wanted to cry, sing, laugh, and jump all at once. And how special it was just to share that with Chris. I keep reliving that day and wish I could replay it over and over. Owen and Olivia are so excited to have a new brother, and can't wait for him to be more interactive with them. Owen keeps asking me when he will be ready to play soccer with him, and Olivia just wants to hold him and put in his binky. We are so glad he is here, safe and healthy.

Off we go to the hospital.

Just got my epidural!

Oh and this is the reason I have that nice little smudge in the corner of every picture. Olivia decided to use my little point in shoot to do a photoshoot with her animals...isn't that cute?

Owen's pride and joy...

This is where our sweet bud has been spending most of his time since our basement has been finished. His uncle Lance built it for him, and he is one proud owner. Everything displayed has been done or directed by him. He keeps it nice and organized and is always making lists of things he needs for his office. Also if you notice on the top that is his treasures/souvenirs/trophy display just like his grandpa Rick!

Turning 28

I love birthdays! And I always look so forward to mine, I know very selfish, but this is one day when you get an excuse to be selfish! Chris always puts the best effort into making it the best day, and this day was a success. Although this birthday was a little different being 9 months pregnant, I still enjoyed every minute. My kids made me homemade cards and Olivia insisted on opening up all my gifts! Chris took the day off so my sweet mom took the kids for a sleepover and Chris and I spent the rest of the day shopping, cleaning, and getting everything ready for the baby!

Oh Hunter..

You have been a victim of a bad haircut, but I am just glad we can all laugh about it. And even you don't seem to mind!

Happy Birthday Hunter!

Our cute big dog was born a year ago today! To say we are in love with him would be an understatement. Yes he is a pet and sometimes it can get overwhelming, but for the most part he is very much doted on. I am just glad he has survived his first year with his buddy Olivia, poor dog can take a lot of abuse from her. Although he tries to stay clear of Liv, he absolutely loves Owen and waits by the door until he comes home, and the feelings are definitely mutual between them! Happy Birthday Hunter!

A girls day.

DSC_0418-web
While the boys had a guys day skiing. We had a girls day of taking pictures and getting a yummy treat! I am just in love with this girl. Yes she is very demanding at times, but I am so grateful for my little Olivia. She is so excited for her baby brother to come, but I can tell she is a little worried about her spot being taken. She asked me last night, if Dad could hold the baby so I can just hold her. Hmmm lets hope she adjusts well to this new little one.
As for Owen he is his Dads little sidekick, whatever Chris is involved with Owen is. Chris is in scouts and Owen is always having pack meetings and carrying binders around scheduling more pack meetings. Good thing Liv is such a sport and will play along with him. On Saturday he planned a guys day with Chris and made a list and this was their to do list for the day;
1. Play spies
2. Play Basketball
3. Watch Basketball
4. ? (this one was a mystery because he didn't want me to know that they were going to target to get another folder, the boy honestly has enough folders to supply his whole kindergarten class.)
And Chris played along with him all day and helped him cross everything off his list. No wonder why Chris is Owen's best friend!

Procrastination.

Most often this word doesn't provide the best outcome, but in this certain case it has. Our Stake president has asked our stake to read the Book of Mormon (which was several months back) and finish by March 20th. And sure enough I forgot and kept putting it off. Well it wasn't until a couple of Sundays ago that one of our Stake leaders reminded us about what we were asked to do and assured us that if we did this that our own lives would be blessed. How could I not complete this simple task? So I took it upon myself to really do this from that day on. I have read 10 or more pages everyday since, and can honestly say that I know what blessings he was talking about. Usually I get my spiritual fill on Sunday and then during the week I am distracted and am pulled in many directions which most of the time does not have any effect on my spiritual gain or outcome. But because I am reading everyday, everything that is important has been on the fore front of my mind instead of on the back burner.
I was reading this mothers blog who's beautiful 5 year old just passed away from cancer. Weeks before her passing she was asking her mom if she was going to die, her mom sweetly replied through soft tears that this home here on earth was just temporary and that she was going to go home to her real home with her loving Heavenly Father. I can't imagine that Moms heartbreak, but her answer touched me so much. This is all temporary. This life will end. I want to do everything that I can to make sure that my home in the end is with my Heavenly Father and my sweet family. And really that is all that matters.
I know this is such a spiritual post, but sometimes it is just so strong you need to get it out. I also have been so grateful for my friendships and family. A couple of days ago I got a call from my best friend who just called me out of the blue to tell me she loved me and was grateful for our friendship. How lucky am I to have that in my life! She is the most down to earth, beautiful, funny, and loyal friend I know. I love her. Everyone needs someone like that in their life.
And as for my sweet Owen, Olivia, and Chris they are my world. They give me headaches at times, but I am so grateful for them. I love that Chris still thinks I am the sexiest woman even though I am still in my pajamas and not feeling so pregnant hot when he gets home from work. I love how Owen tells me he loves me and writes and draws me notes throughout the week. I love how Olivia wants to wear what I wear and do my hair and play babies with me. She told me today if you are mean to me mom I won't be your friend, but I will always love you. And I am so excited to have another little one to hold, I already feel so attached to him. Life is good.

New Years eve 2010!

This year we decided to do a talent show for the kids and it was so much fun! Owens talent was his many cool slam dunks, and Livs was singing I love to see the temple! My little Neice, Aislee, danced a beautiful ballet number to silent night. Easton did his fighter song and Bremen took photos and drank his water! This was definitely the highlight of our night!

Chris's birthday and Christmas Eve

Chris is just ever so lucky to have his birthday on a Holiday! I try to make the best of it though. This year we had our traditional fondue with the Burtons at our house! We also had the kids re enact Christ's birth, Owen was excited to play Joseph and Olivia an angel.

Happy Birthday my sweet Chris!!!

Our Downtown little trip!

This year we decided to make seeing the Temple lights a little vacation! This is definitely going to be one of our new traditions. We started the night with McDonald's for dinner and then off to see the lights, it was so nice to not feel in a rush and just take it all in! I did however have to hand feed my kids treats to keep them from whining too much when seeing the lights (see picture below). We then went swimming and stayed up late to watch Despicable me. We ended it with a some more swimming and a breakfast buffet in the morning!
