O..

I just got myself a nifty new lense, and Owen was lucky to be the first to try it out. Look at those eyes. Oh I love this boy! The other day Owen and I went to get Christmas gifts for Chris and Olivia. He was so excited to give Chris his present, and was a little upset that Chris couldn't open it when we got home. I'm trying to teach him to give to other people but I think he mostly shops for himself. Do you think Olivia would like footballs, and baseballs?

Owen's four...

Happy birthday cute boy! We had a nonstop fun day today! You got to go to breakfast with some of your friends, and then off to school, where they celebrated your birthday with you. Then had all of your family over for dinner and cake and ice cream. You choose a pink cake with pink icing, and you had to make sure that you had some pink balloons too. I was a little worried, but went along with it. I asked you if you were sure you wanted the pink cake, and you replied "I told you what I wanted." Well okay. It was great day!

The true meaning of Christmas.

Owen was telling me the other day, that he loved Jesus, but loved Santa more. Hmmm, I think we will be having a crash course on the true meaning of Christmas. His little comment made me think and really put into perspective of why we celebrate this wonderful holiday season. I tried explaining to Owen that even though Santa is pretty fun and brings us toys and goodies, Jesus was able to give us the best gift of all, eternal life. He didn't quite understand it, but I know one day he will.

He tells me now, "I like Santa and Jesus just the same!"

Can't we all just get along...

My kids are sweet, but not that sweet today.
Dear Owen,
Do you think that you could use the word "NO" less often? Do you think you could eat the yummy blueberry pancakes I made you, and not complain that they have yucky things in them? Do you think you could help me pick up all your toys that you like to pile up on the couch? And maybe just maybe you could give me a hug and a kiss to let me know how much you love me.

Thanks. Love Mom.

Oh, and Liv lets try and be a little less sensitive today. Thanks that would help.

Six years strong.

I think this is my favorite anniversary to date. Instead of doing something lavish we sent our kids up to Kamas for the weekend with their grandparents. And we enjoyed a peaceful, quiet night at home. We went to dinner followed by seeing Eagle Eye, and a long nights sleep with no potty breaks at 3 or so in the morning. Slept in until 9, went for a nice walk, ate a yummy breakfast, and all the while I did not have to pick up my house this entire time. Chris even convinced me to help him put up the Christmas lights. I was so proud I got on the roof, even with Chris's lack of patience, I did it!
I often look back and think why the heck did I get married at such a young age, I had my whole life to be married. But I know I was led to Chris for a reason. He is my other half, my rock. He is a great Dad, I just found out the other night that I am the parent that the kids want to keep stuff from, you know there is always one, and I guess unfortunately thats me. Chris and Owen were driving home from the real game and Owen spilled his popcorn in the car, and Owen kept telling Chris, " Just don't tell mom, okay?" So I guess in our household I am the one who disciplines and Chris is the fun one who plays non stop soccer, tennis, baseball, and etc. I am so lucky to have you Chris (I hope you feel the same way, you do right?) Love you a thousand times.

P.s. Do you think you can give me one good picture, where you don't look put out or burdened by the fact that I want to kiss you? I think your eyes are rolling in this picture.

Sweet Babies.

Today I miss having a baby in my house. I feel like Olivia and Owen have grown up way too fast. I miss having Liv just sit on my lap and me carrying her around, instead she would rather have Owens company. There is something about a baby that just brings a sense of warmth and love to your heart. They depend on you, even though that can weigh you down at times, but for the most it is such an undeniable wonderful gift. Looking through old photos of Owen and Olivia, I asked myself why I was waiting for the next step or next milestone. I should've just held them and kissed there chubby cheeks all day long. So today I want the clock to move slowly and hopefully I will get lots of kisses and hugs in without to much of a fight. Owen and Olivia you are loved so much!

First Pigtails

I can't believe this day has come. Silly, I know. I have been looking forward to doing Livs hair since the day she was born. And for the first time I was able to put it in little pigtails. I was so excited all day, I even told my primary class what a special day it was for me and Liv. And one of the girls simply replied, "Whats the big deal, there just pigtails" Yes I know and probably many think the same thing. But for me, I love it! I grew up with 3 sisters, and a sweet mom who would always do our hair. We would get to chose braids or curlers on Saturday night, so that our hair would look all cute for Sunday. You look so cute, Olivia!

*Sidenote: Olivia had to leave church a little early that day, because of extreme rowdiness, and fussiness. So her pigtails maybe lasted a total of 3 hours. Oh well.

Photo shoot with Liv

Me and Liv have been struggling to get along the past couple of days. I fear she is turning into a mini Jules. So instead of moping around wondering where my sweet Liv went, I decided to do a photo shoot with her. This put us both in good moods for the time being. She looks like a sweet angel in these pictures, not to short after this she pointed her little finger at me and said "no no". Is it time for Chris to get home yet?

Bad fall.

This is the part of motherhood I don't like. How do you tell your child it is going to be alright, when you can't even comprehend their pain. And you wish more than anything that you would be the one with the swollen lip, rather than them. Last night Chris was picking up owen to come upstairs, when he fell straight down on his face. Both me and Chris were sick to our stomachs, he was so swollen and in a lot of pain. So he has had a lot of special treatment in the last 24 hours; watching back to back little einsteins, sleeping in our bed, and applesauce pancakes. Today, as you can tell, is a lot better. With Chris being prone to accidents when he was little, I am sure we will have many more bruises, cuts, broken bones, and lots of tears.

Safe driving

I was watching Dr. Phil today, I know sounds so cliche. But it was about texting while driving, and I am very GUILTY when it comes to that. So from today on out, I will no longer be texting or using my cell phone, while driving. Really is it that worth it? No it is not. I believe people go through trials not only for their benefit, but also to impact others lives. So lets learn from their heartache, and pain. Please spread the word.

Nothing like Family

Yesterday we had a little birthday celebration for my sweet Dad. Let me just tell you how loved he is, he is a Dad of four girls who still call him Daddy, and now every single grandchild is clinged to him. We seem to think that the little ones had a strong bond with our Grandpa Weldon before making their arrival. And I'm sure my Dad is every bit like his Dad. Lovable, humorous, sweet, and so selfless. Daddy, what would we do without you? Happy birthday you are now one year older and very much more wise.
On a different note have I told you how much I love my camera, how did I live without it.

Olivia was a happy camper, as you can tell with the remnants of cookies on her mouth.

Can you believe this little girl was a preemie, oh I just love her!

Just a little more...

Seriously, where did Olivia get these eyes?

My parents took Owen to the circus a couple of weeks ago, and has brought home a new trait from the clowns. This apparently is what clowns do.

Aren't these boys so cute?

Life is good

Me and my friend Lindsay decided to go up American fork canyon to look at the leaves, and hopefully get a couple of good pictures, but unfortunately my little Liv didn't like that idea. As you can tell all she wanted was to sit and enjoy all of the beautiful surroundings with a bag of cheerios. Oh well I'm loving the black and white photo of her! She never smiles in pictures, but she is always smiling around the house.
Lately Olivia has adapted this new attitude, and is very impatient, especially when it comes to eating. We went out to lunch after the canyon, and I could hardly even get a bite in before she was yelling at me to feed her. Wow, I hope this isn't the beginning of a long road ahead of us. Good thing I have Owen, he is a great helper, and loves playing with Liv and keeping her entertained.

I can't stop staring at this picture. I see so much of Chris and me in him.

Attempting to get atleast one good photo of them together, nope not happening.

Yea for Owen!

Today Owen had a good day, I think a miracle took place. Owen you did it! You said, " I can keep the commandments" in front of our whole ward and your family. Strangely I was the one with butterflies in my stomach the whole time hoping that a scene wasn't about to take place, but nope you walked right up to the podium (with me crawling behind you) and said it, but you had to repeat it a second time, because it was very quiet. I really don't know how it happened, but it did. We both walked back to our seats, why I strongly fought back the tears. Owen thank you for letting the spirit help you today.

(FYI, I wasn't being one of those panic, frantic moms following my little boy around making sure he would be the best, I had to sit up there with our 7 year old class, and Owen opted to sit by me instead of his class. So when it was his time to go and say his part, he asked for my help. Hence me crawling behind him.)

On a different note. Our little Liv is walking, and she loves to be applauded for her new accomplishment. She also loves pointing and discovering new things. She has found flys very fascinating, and birds. I love her, I love the smell and feel of her hair, I love kissing her chubby cheeks, I love cuddling and singing her songs before bed, I love getting her out of bed in the morning, I love that she loves me, and she knows that I am her mom. I am a proud mom today!

Vacation blues.

I hate coming home from a vacation, it leaves me feeling down and very bored. We have been in Park city with my family this whole last week. And despite the minor blowout with my sisters (Yes it was all my fault), I had a great time. I miss playing Dr. Mario with Jamie over and over. Swimming in the hot tubs with all my neices and nephews, and most of all shopping my little heart out, with my Mom and sisters. Thanks Mom and Dad for treating us like Queens. Oh and thanks to all of the sugar wafers I consumed last week, my clothes are all feeling a little tighter (Damn wafers). No pictures to show from this week, because, yes, I was too busy eating, sleeping, and playing.

I did get some pictures of our trip to St. George over Labor day weekend. We went with our good friends, Dirt and Hill. I love them! We always have so much fun with them. Thanks for the fun weekend!

In Owen's eyes....

......I am the best human in the world, the sweetest mom, and the cutest girl on the block (I am not %100 that he said this, but when I asked him if that is what he said, he replied "yes". Great! I'll take it.) And this was all said to me in one day. Our morning ritual usually goes as follows; Make him a waffle, he replies "Thank you" get his chocolate milk ready, (he prepares it, I think this might be the highlight of his day), he replies, "Thank you" when he is done, wash him up and turn on his cartoons. This is when they all start flowing out, Your so sweet, I love you soooo much, Your so cute. Wow if only it could stay like that through the day. Oh well atleast it will all start back up the next morning. Owen, I think your the cutest, sweetest, most patient trying boy on the block, and I love you sooooo much.
